Natural Ways To Get Rid Of Mosquito Bites

NATURAL WAYS TO PREVENT MOSQUITO BITES

Summer is a beatiful season which allows us a lot of time to relax after a fully-stressed school year. But of course every beauty has its flaws and the bad side of the summer is mosquitos. Fortunately you can find the natural ways to prevent mosquito bites in this page!

Some people do not want to use chemical sprays because it can cause irritation, rashes, headache, difficulty in breathing and more. I also don't want to use chemical sprays so I observed the people around me and listed the whole prevention ways from mosquitos. Lets start!

1) Lemon Juice

Years ago while I was staying at my parents friends in Hungary, I witnessed them applying lemon juice to their skin to prevent mosquitos. That night was my first try and there were no mosquitos disturbing me the whole night. However, I think that lemon juice was not pure because it didn't sticked on my skin. Maybe they diluted it. They also said that they learned this method from an African and it makes sence when we consider the high temperatures in Africa.

Thanks aunt Judith!

2) Eucalyptus Oil

Actually, its cream form is applied to the soles of the feet when you have the flu or to the nose when you have nasal congestion, but If you ever sniff this oil, you should know that it has a strong and distinctive smell. For mosquitos it's so much disturbing that they even can't approach.

 3) Basil

Especially, in summer houses you can find this plant easily because it loves hot and sunny weather. You can keep the basil in a vase and water it per three days. It has different types but mosquitos hate the smell of lemon basil. You can place it near the window or near your bed. Don't forget that lemon basil is not a complete prevention, it's just a supporter.

NOTE: Lavender oil is considered as a mosquito preventer and it's true. Nevertheless, lavender shampoos, shower gels and lotions are not mosquito preventer. In contrast, they attract mosquitos. This is because lavender shampoos, shower gels and lotions do not contain enough lavender instead, they contain sugar and vanilla which mosquitos are attracted to. I found this out during my visit to Brussels in june. There was only one shampoo labeled as lavender and i literally got five bites that night. So I definitely don't recommend using these products.

Thank you for your visit on my page, see you on the next one!

  1. Thanks a lot but I think the best way to get rid of them is to move to Antartica where the mosquitos never live 😉 This way you can also get rid of hot weather
